Bjorn Landstrom's books are some of the most lovely books ever published. His scholarship and artistic ability have yet to be matched. This book is another great example. While any talk of Columbus' these days is bound to be bordering on the edge of political correctness, there was a time when his accomplishment was looked upon as one of the greatest in recorded history.

I have just received my copy of Bjorn Landstrom's "The Ship" (a replacement after the loss of a collection), and was somewhat surprised to discover a lack of reviews for it. This seems odd; in my mind, it is one of the most important books available on maritime history.
